Hey cousins a.k.a kutto,

People say stay close to your family even when things go wrong because, in the end, they'll stick by you. But, what if you're scared? What if your parents are not like everyone else? What if they can't understand you? That's when these monstrous creatures called siblings/cousins come into the picture. Luckily most of us can find everything in a cousin that we have seen in movies about them.

In Dil Dhadakne Do, Kabir and Ayesha Mehra,

In Hum Sath Sath ha, Prem Vinod Sangeeta and Vivek,

In Bumm Bumm Bole, Pinu and Rimjhim,

In The Tripling, Chandan, Chitwan, and Chanchal, etc.

Ignoring all the love wala part though.

This is India, and they were just movies.

For me, I would totally agree that family or moreover siblings or cousins play an important role in our life. They'll do anything to save you from your parents and later make you do all their work by blackmailing you. That's what they are for, aren't they? You've grown up with a few of them and you can now understand each other through eye contact. You have had your own set of fights with them, but that never led you apart.

The first person you'll call when you've to attend a family function would definitely be your sibling/cousin. They have always helped you survive it. When you both are together, people dare not take pangas with either of you. You both dance like maniacs on the dance floor like no one's watching while everyone is. You just don't care about anything else when you're with them. They've helped you through the times when you wanted to cry during functions they've made several reasons to protect you from your parents. A family with a sibling or a cousin isn't just a family it's a blessing. Having someone with whom you can bitch about the aunties and uncles and family functions me good looking guests ko tadna is priceless.

So yes, siblings and cousins impact our lives in ways we might not even know.
